A Season's Memories
Category: Blog
As a languorous summer comes to a close, thoughts move toward a more dynamic quarter.
AUTUMN SUN
I sit and watch the autumn sun
Bid it's last goodbye
A chilling air has just begun
To sketch a lilac sky
Distant limbs of naked beech
Rise up in the haze
In search of life they aim to reach
The last receding rays
A season borne of soft decline
Stirs a more reflective mind
When ageing hues and falling leaves
Paint melancholy memories
Of hidden paths intently crossed
Of stirring races run
Sweet loves and battles won and lost
Beneath the autumn sun
